What is the best way to match previous safegraph_place_id to current placekeys?

Hi everyone, I have another question: what is the best way to match previous safegraph_place_id to current placekey, because I am working with an old data that contains safegraph_place_id.

This topic was automatically generated from Slack. You can find the original thread here.

Hey @Dongyue_Oliver_Li ! Thanks for reaching out about Geometry data. Happy to get this for you. On Shop, how much is the transaction for your Geometry data? I’ll give you a corresponding coupon code for the amount.

Where are you getting this previous data that contains only safegraph_place_id? I’d recommend re-downloading it from Shop. In mid-July, we released placekeys for all historical data so that users wouldn’t have to match safegraph_place_id to placekey.

Hi Niki, thanks for your reply! The price for the geometry data is $19135.15 (credit applied) as shown in the attached image.

I am using an old data from a previous research work. The authors provide their estimated mobility networks with safegraph_place_ids (which is used to identify the POIs). Therefore, I need to transform the place ids to placekeys.

Did the authors share that raw data with you?

No, they only provide place ids.

Thanks for the clarification. We can work through DM to get you that Geometry data. But thanks for posting in help as it maximizes knowledge sharing for the Community!

As we retired safegraph_place_id a few releases back, that column header is no longer supported in our Match tool as well (shop.safegraph.com/match). Any chance you have a list of the name and addresses of these POIs? You could feed a csv file of that information into Match, easily append Placekeys, and check out on Shop for just those POIs.

Thank you, Niki! I will try to figure it out.

Hey @Dongyue_Oliver_Li - no problem! To prevent any further questions from being overlooked, I’ll go ahead and close this thread out. If you have any more questions or follow-up questions, we’re always here to help! Just be sure to make a new post to help, as we aren’t monitoring old threads at this time. Thanks!
